Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is a unique and creative therapy model based on the innovative use of mindfulness and values. The aim of ACT is to maximise human potential for a rich, full and meaningful life; to cultivate health, vitality and well-being through mindful values-based living.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is the term used for a school of therapies that share the underlying assumption that people are disturbed not by events in their lives, but by their beliefs and thoughts about those events. It is a logical and practical approach to help people with their emotional problems by changing their thinking and their behaviour.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness Meditation is becoming widely popular as an adjunct to conventional medical and psychological therapies. Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. By bringing the attention back to the present moment in a non-judgemental way, we are able to free up some space to decide how to respond to certain issues or circumstances, instead of mindlessly reacting.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy, people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference.

We also offer video or phone sessions if you are located remotely or have circumstances that affect your ability to attend in person.
